Growing Your Business with a Beautiful, Easy-to-Manage Website
Getting a new website built can feel like a bigger project than it needs to be. You’re not sure what to ask for, who will actually do the work, or whether the end result will look like what you imagined. We’ve heard all of that before. It’s exactly why we built a process that keeps you in the loop at every stage, never surprises you with costs or timelines, and ends with a website your customers will recognize as yours.
You need a website that perfectly aligns with your business goals; a website that makes your brand shine. Maybe you know exactly what that looks like. Or maybe you need more guidance. Either way, it’s our job to figure out what works best for your business; to create a website that matches your industry’s needs while speaking to your customers in your voice.

Before anyone opens a design file, we spend time understanding your business. What do your customers look like? What do they need to find quickly when they land on your site? Who are your competitors, and what are they doing well or poorly? We look at your industry, your market, and your goals before we put together a plan. That research shapes every decision that follows, from the structure of your pages to the language we use to speak to your customers.
We design in stages, and we ask for your feedback at every one. It starts with wireframes: simple layout sketches that map out where content will sit on each page, without any colour or imagery. Once you’re happy with the structure, we move into visual design, starting with your homepage. You see exactly what it will look like before we build anything. Subpages follow the same pattern. Nothing progresses until you’ve signed off, so there are no surprises at the end.
We build on platforms your team can actually use. Most of our clients end up on WordPress, which powers a large portion of the web and gives you a clean, familiar content management system. If you’re selling products online, WooCommerce and Shopify are both options we work with comfortably. We build to current coding standards, with mobile-responsive design built in from the start. Your site will load well, function properly on phones and tablets, and be set up to grow as your business does.
A website that looks great but says nothing useful will not convert visitors into customers. We work with you to develop copy that sounds like your business, speaks directly to your audience, and includes the right keywords to help Google understand what you do and where you do it. Once the content is ready, we put everything onto a staging site. You get to see the full website, click through every page, and test how it functions before it ever goes live.
Going live should not be stressful. We handle the transition from your old site to the new one carefully, preserving your existing SEO value and avoiding downtime wherever possible. Once the site launches, we walk you through how to manage it. You’ll know how to update your own content, add pages, and make basic changes without needing to call anyone. The site is completely yours. You keep all the logins, all the files, and full control.
Every project starts with a conversation. We want to know where your business is going, not just what your current website looks like. Are you launching something new? Growing into a different market? Trying to attract a different kind of customer? Your answers shape the entire project, so we take time to ask the right questions before we start recommending anything.
Once we understand what you’re working toward, we research your industry and your competitors. We look at what’s working for businesses like yours and where the gaps are. From there, we put together a strategy that guides the project: what pages you need, how they should be structured, and what your site needs to do to perform well in local search. You’re involved in shaping that plan before anything goes to design.
Design happens in stages, with your approval at each one. We start with wireframes, move to homepage design, and then subpages. You can be as involved or as hands-off as you prefer. Some clients have strong opinions about every detail. Others trust us to make the calls and want to see the finished product. Either way works for us.
With the design approved, we build. You don’t need to follow the technical work closely, but we keep you updated at each milestone. We build mobile-responsive sites using current coding standards so your website works properly on every device and holds up well over time.
Before anything goes live, we move the completed site to a staging environment so you can walk through it as a visitor would. This is your chance to test navigation, read through the copy, check that contact forms work, and make any final adjustments. Nothing launches until you’re satisfied.
We handle the switch from old site to new with care. No unnecessary downtime, no lost SEO ground. Once it’s live, it’s yours. You’re welcome to continue working with us on marketing, or you can take it from here on your own. There’s no pressure either way.
We’ve launched hundreds of websites for businesses across the Fraser Valley and beyond, from local trades companies and healthcare providers to manufacturers and retailers. That experience means we’ve seen what works and what does not. We know which questions to ask at the start that save everyone time later, and we know how to handle the curveballs that come up mid-project.
We are a marketing company that builds websites, not a design shop that dabbles in marketing. Every site we build is structured with search visibility and lead generation in mind from the beginning. That means clean URL structures, proper heading hierarchy, page speed considerations baked into development, and content written to answer the questions your customers are actually searching for. The goal is a website that works for you, not just one that looks good in a screenshot.
We work in stages, and we ask for your sign-off before moving to the next one. Wireframes come before design. The homepage is approved before we build the rest. You preview the full site on a staging environment before it goes live. At no point are you waiting for a reveal and hoping for the best. If something is not right, we hear it early and fix it early.
We price honestly and explain what is included before any work begins. You own your domain, your code, your content, and all your logins from day one. There is no software licence that keeps you tied to us, no proprietary platform that breaks if you ever leave. Some of our clients have been with us for ten or fifteen years. That is by choice, not by contract.
After meeting with FirstPage Marketing, we realized that a new website and rebrand was necessary in order to get to where we wanted to be as a company. FirstPage helped us through this process with great service along the way. Since the launch of our new website and rebranding action, the results have been excellent. Not only are we seeing a great inflow of leads, the leads we are getting are much more qualified and better aligned with our target audience. We are very happy with our new website because it brings results and we feel that it best represents who we are as a company.

FirstPage Marketing had the unenviable task of working with six community partners to create a website that incorporated the vision and expectations of each community. Through ongoing collaboration, meetings and discussion this was achieved, with the end result being a visually appealing site that captures the true essence of the road trip experience. Thank you to you and the team for all your hard work.

Most projects run between six and twelve weeks from our first meeting to launch, depending on the size of the site and how quickly content and feedback come together on your end. We’ll give you a realistic timeline at the start of the project and keep you updated as we go. We don’t set launch dates we can’t meet.
Most of our clients end up on WordPress, the most widely used content management system in the world, which gives you a simple way to update your own content without needing a developer. If you sell products online, WooCommerce and Shopify are both options we work with comfortably. We’ll talk through your specific needs in the first conversation and recommend the platform that fits your business.
Yes, and we make sure of it. Before we hand things over, we walk you through how to manage your site: how to update pages, add blog posts, change images, and make basic edits without needing to call us every time. You don’t need a technical background to keep your site current.
We handle copywriting as part of the project. Our team researches your industry, your customers, and your competitors before writing content that speaks to the right audience and includes the keywords your customers are actually searching for. If you have existing content you want to keep or adapt, or you want to write the content for your new website, we can work with that too.
Yes. We build your new site on a private staging environment, so your existing website stays completely live and unaffected throughout the project. The switch only happens once the new site is ready and you’ve approved it. We handle the transition to avoid downtime and make sure your existing SEO value carries over.
Yes, completely. You own the domain, the code, the content, and all the logins from day one. We don’t build on proprietary platforms that lock you in, and there’s no ongoing licence fee to keep your site running. If you ever want to move to a different host or work with a different provider down the road, you take everything with you.
We price based on the scope of the project rather than fixed packages, because a five-page service business site and a thirty-page eCommerce store are worlds apart in terms of the work involved. We give you a clear, detailed quote before any work begins so you know exactly what’s included. There are no hidden fees and no surprises.
Website redesign costs in Canada vary significantly depending on the size of the site, the complexity of the design, whether copywriting is included, and the platform it’s built on. A small business site typically falls in a different range than a full eCommerce build or a multi-location service company site. We quote each project individually based on what it actually requires, and we provide a detailed breakdown before any work begins so you know exactly what you’re paying for and why.
It depends on what’s holding your current site back. If the site is structurally sound, loads well on mobile, and just needs refreshed content or a visual update, a partial update may be enough. If the platform is outdated, the site is slow, it doesn’t reflect your business accurately, or it was built before mobile-first design was standard, a full redesign is usually the better investment. We’ll assess your current site honestly and tell you which approach makes more sense for your situation before recommending anything.
A staging site is a private, password-protected version of your new website that exists before the site goes live. It lets you see and test the complete, fully functional website exactly as your visitors will experience it, without any of it being visible to the public or affecting your current live site. You can click through every page, test contact forms, check how it looks on your phone, and request changes before anything is published. It’s one of the most important parts of our process because it means there are no surprises at launch.
A good web design company does more than make sites look attractive. The most important qualities to look for are a clear process that keeps you informed and involved, a track record of delivering on time and within budget, sites built on platforms you can actually manage yourself, and an understanding of how design connects to marketing performance. SEO structure, mobile responsiveness, and page speed all need to be built in from the start, not added as afterthoughts. At FirstPage Marketing, we’ve been building websites for businesses across BC since 2001, and because we’re a marketing company first, every site we build is designed to perform, not just to look good.
We don’t offer a standard maintenance retainer, but we’re available to help with updates, fixes, and changes on an as-needed basis after launch. Many of our clients handle their own day-to-day content updates after we walk them through the site, and reach out to us when something more significant comes up. If ongoing marketing support is something you’re interested in, we also offer SEO, paid advertising, and social media management services that keep us involved in your site’s performance after launch.
We’re here to listen to you. Tell us what you need or where you want to go. We’ll help you find the best solution.
